Dusk Games

The birthplace of randomness...

Veil (3rd Jul 10)

Though we may have slowed down on the game-making front recently, and are really taking our time with our projects, we are starting a virtual band called 'Veil'. This will feature music with contributions from all of us, but Alexfox (or DJ Arktis) will compose the final tunage, and animation from me. Alex would like everyone to know he is slowly working on his unfinished projects again. Be excited!

Email problem (9th Apr 10)

My sincerest apologies for not adding a submit button to the email section. It appears that a few of you have tried to send emails, so sorry about that. It's fixed now; the first ever bug that you couldn't email me about. Enjoy the site.

Sundown (1st Apr 10)

Sundown is here, a platformer made entirely from 3D models. However, this 3Dness requires a lot of... processing? I don't know what the word is, but you need a fairly good computer, otherwise the game may lag or the models may become blocky and broken. That's all. Play here.

Rising Fire 2 (2nd Mar 10)

It's finally upon us; the epic RPG that you've been so excited for, we didn't even tell you it was coming. I'm done talking now. Go play. Also, watch the tutorial on youtube.

Anniversary (5th Dec 09)

Today is Dusk Games' first anniversary. All 3 of us have created a game called DuskVersal, which you can find over on the games page. It features a bunch of characters, music and sprites from all of us, so enjoy.
Keep on supporting indie games, spread the word, and may the Dusk be with you.
Peace.

Meziathol's AWESOME Design a monster competition! (1st Oct 09)

Now, forget the babyish title and look into this awesome comp. All you guys and gals out there have until the end of October to design a monster and an attack. 3 chosen monsters will be picked and featured in my game! To enter, you must create the following set of sprites:
Monster Normal
Monster Attacking
Monster's Attack Sprite
Monster Getting Hurt

Not only will the 3 winning designs get their monster featured as a monster in the game, the 3 winners will receive a special edited version of the game. that will not be released to the public. Get spriting you fools and send all entries to the following email address: meziathol@hotmail.com . Give the email the subject 'Monster Entry' or something similar. Sprites must be under 64x64 and must be something creative! Please do not send your entry as a jpeg file!

Remember!
By submitting your sprites you give up ALL ownership and royalties, and agree to let me use the sprites in not only Rising Fire Chapter 2, but any other game I might create in the future, commercial or not.

Forums (30th Jul 09)

Hallo, everyone. A new forum has been opened by Alex, so please get yo' butt over there and do whatever you like to do in forums. Check it here.
Also, Meziathol's new RPG is finished, and I'm gutted to say that it may take some time for it to upload, because it's absolutely amazing. Just keep checking back there, and hopefully it'll be here by the end of next week.

Game-o-rama (12th Jul 09)

We recently uploaded 3 more games, one by each of us. Even though they were completed quite a while ago, I suddenly decided it was about time we had a new article. So, these little masterpieces are: the long awaited Kitsune Adventures, by Alexfox; the not-so-long awaited Shakn 3, by yours truly; and a fiendishly addictive minigame by Meziathol. Meziathol is busy working on some epic RPGs, so hang in there, baby!

Tigers (25th May 09)

I've recently been extra-concerned about the tiger, and I came across a site called Tiger Awareness. I decided to create a game so that if we ever get well-known, people will go to that site and help stop the tigers dying out. The game is available on the games page. Also, in my desperate attempt to help the tigers, I'll probably create a wallpaper. But the point is, you're supposed to go to the site. So erm... do it!

Pros and cons (10th May 09)

A lot of changes have been made. Firstly, the images are no longer warped and poor. I don't know why they've suddenly corrected themelves, but they have. Secondly, there are no third-party downloads anymore. You download the games straight from the site. But aside the two pros, there is grim news. All music (mine included, because I couldn't be bothered to filter through what was mine and what wasn't) has been removed from Shakn 2, Kumori and the Eternal Mists, and Shakn's MIE. The games will be back up and running, just as soon as I write another 8 tracks to replace the music that I could've been sued for. Actually, if anybody fancies helping out, then email me for more details, if you think you can make vaguely presentable music. X)

Youtube channel (19th Apr 09)

Visit our Youtube account, where we will all upload our soon-to-be wide archive of reviews, walkthroughs, demos and such. Ee, tis a wonderful world.

Shakn 2 (22nd Feb 09)

The long awaited "Shakn 2: The Retrieval" is finally finished and online. It's a pity nobody knows about this site, because I spent months and months working on it, and now nobody will see the outcome of my endless labour... Aww...

ShadowWolf

50% (4th Feb 09)

The time has come when I can sing the words "fifty percent" to the tune of La Cucaraca, as Shakn 2 is finally 50% completed. This could mean that its final completion could be a mere month away! I just decided I'd tell you, so that the Shakn fanatics can celebrate as much as I did. Merry Wednesday, my friends!

Ratings (1st Feb 09)

A new system is in action, which is basically a certificate for the games. Now you finally know if they're suitable for you or not. All the games have been marked, and I hope this new system is useful. See more here.

Meziathol (25th Jan 09)

It's another new addition to the Dusk Games team: Meziathol! His games will be up and running on this site shortly, so keep checking back, as we may have come across the guy who will create the best RPG ever ever...

Alex Kitsune (18th Jan 09)

Hello.  I'm Alex Kitsune.  And I have recently joined Dusk Games.  Well, by joined, I
mean I'm letting Shadow post my games and news and...
other stuff (I don't want to spoil it) on his website.  And for this, I am truely grateful.
I hope Dusk Games grows to be a successful website one day.  ...Cause then I'll be
famous MUAHAHAHAHA!!!  XD

Making something clear (18th Jan 09)

I'd like to stress that games like "Shakn's Magnificent Intergalactic Extravaganza" do not correspond to the continuous Shakn plotline. It is just a simple subgame that I hope you all still enjoy.

ShadowWolf

Kumori and the Eternal Mists (18th Jan 09)

Another new game. It's a surreal platformer that I based on a REALLY weird dream I had. Get over there and play it, plox.

ShadowWolf

Confederation (17th Jan 09)

The magnificent games of Alex Kitsune are here! Let today mark the day Dusk Games grew a bit! Get over to the games page and play Fox Adventures and Impossible Game! Dooo it!

ShadowWolf

Members feature retired (16th Jan 09)

I've decided to make room for more things, so the members feature has gone bye-bye. These things are yet to come, so keep your eyes peeled. The main reason nothing new is here yet would be due to the fact that the server keeps rejecting any new and exciting things I try to add. Ah well, vigilance is key.

ShadowWolf

Deep Freeze (9th Jan 09)

It's finally here, the great new multiplayer battle game! Choose your penguin, or even draw your own, then grab a friend (not too hard, you'll hurt him) and shoot him into the ground with a large variety of artillery and axes! 5 original arenas to choose from, this game will keep you entertained for hours!
